Learning to kayak is fun and promotes safety. This site supports the efforts of the American Canoe Association and the British Canoe Union in upholding the basic tenets of their mission.  There are too many deaths that occur each year from people who buy kayaks and do not take instruction to understand the inherent dangers and how to protect themselves.

As certified Instructors, we have built this website to help you find instruction in your area to help you gain the greatest amount of enjoyment and safety while participating in the sport.

We encourage you to view our listing of ACA instructors in the Western N.C area 100 mile radius, and also our list of outfitters where you can gain instruction as well as purchase needed equipment.
